In search of the perfect mouthpiece
Though I like my Graftonite A7 (large chamber, facing=55) and C7 (small chamber, facing =55) better than the stock mouthpiece (unbranded), I'm still having embarrassing squeaks. I understand a jazz mouthpiece would have a long or medium long facing, and a large tip opening, but Rico doesn't state the tip opening of these.
With the stock mouthpiece squeaks are far more frequent, and changing reeds with the Ricos often helps, so I'm thinking the mouthpiece may be contributing.
Vandoren BD5 tip = 113, BD7 tip = 133, 5JB tip = 147, and 7JB tip = 170 ! That's quite a range to choose from! I have spoken with wwbw about buying 2 or 3 and returning 1 or 2. Still I'm hoping to get a winner in the first order.

I am wondering the same. I switched to a softer reed, but it didn't seem to make much difference. Tried the synthetic also... nope. Is it my embouchure?
