Trad Jazz Standards
Hi Adrian and fellow clarinetists!
I've just joined the website a few days ago, and so far I'm having a lot of fun with the classes. The videos are very clear and to-the-point. It really is a privilege to be able to learn from such an accomplished musician and teacher. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us Adrian!
I had a question for Adrian, but I'd also love to hear from other class members. Would it be possible to recommend a list of Trad Jazz Standards to learn, let's say 25 to 50 essentials that are often called at jam sessions, and the most common keys for each one of them? It's easy to find lists of more modern standards online (post Swing and Be Bop), but I have trouble finding comprehensive lists of early Jazz / New Orleans music. So far, I've been learning songs I like, digging into recordings of artists of that time, or in the style. But since I don't go to jam sessions (yet!), I'd love to learn a bunch of songs that are commonly played so I could join eventually.
Thank you!
Pierre
